Athens County Sheriff's Police Academy

The Athens County Sheriff’s Office offers a Police Academy every year that is run through the Ohio Police Officer Training Commission.  Completion of the academy certifies men and women to work as a Police Officer any where in the State of Ohio.  The academy is run during the evening hours which allows anyone that has a full time day job to attend.  The schedule for the academy is Monday through Thursday from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm, Fridays there are no classes, Saturdays from 8:00 pm to 5:00 pm and some Sundays from 8:00 pm to 5:00 pm.  The academy lasts approximately five months and is scheduled to begin early January 2011.  Applications are still available and anyone interested in the academy can contact Captain Bryan E.
