Concealed Carry Training

The Athens County Sheriff’s Office conducts regular concealed carry weapons training to those citizens wishing to complete the requirements for a concealed carry weapons license.

This training is conducted by the firearms training unit within the Athens County Sheriffs Office.

These courses are 12 hours in length and are a model Ohio Peace Officers Training Council approved course.  The course consists of 8 hours course study and 4 hours range time. The course will fulfill the training requirements needed for applicants to receive the license to carry concealed firearms.

April                 16th (8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.) & 17th (8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.)
May                 3rd, 5th ( 6:00 p.m.- 10:00 p.m.), & 7th (8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.)
June**             14th, 16th ( 6:00 p.m.- 10:00 p.m.), & 18th (8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.)
July                  19th, 21st ( 6:00 p.m.- 10:00 p.m.), & 23rd (8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.)
August              9th, 11th ( 6:00 p.m.- 10:00 p.m.), & 13th (8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.)

Dates are not exclusive. Private group dates can be set to accommodate at request.

Specialty courses including refresher style courses, advanced shooting courses and home defense courses also available for small groups upon request.
