Lt. Darrell Cogar was raised in Athens County and is a graduate of Federal Hocking High School. He has worked for the Athens County Sheriff's Office for over 21 years. He began his work in the Sheriff's Office as a correction's officer in the Athens County Jail. Lt. Cogar has an Associates Degree at Hocking College in Business Administration and has received his Ohio Peace Officer Training
Certification.

Lt. Cogar has worked to protect the citizens of Athens County under the direction of five Athens County Sheriffs. He has worked as a Supervisor for over 14 years.
